How to deal with hard acne

When you have hard acne you may think there is no hope. You can feel like an outsider in your own life and that people are always making fun of you.

Acne that is tough to get rid of can leave the sufferer feeling "dirty" and "unclean" when in reality they are probably over scrubbing their skin.

There is no reason to suffer any longer with difficult and chronic acne. When all the other treatments have failed you time and time again, you can seek the help of a medical professional.

Your doctor can help you figure out what prescription regime will work for you so that you never have to suffer from acne again.

Helpful Maintenance

While not all hard acne can be managed with over the counter and natural remedies, it does not mean give up all hope. Often there are people who over clean their skin in order to try and prevent the outbreak of acne. What this does is strip your skin of the essential oils that protect the skin. This can actually enable the acne to become more pervasive.

While facial cleansing is very important to remove the excess oils and dirt from your skin, it should not be overdone. One wash per day with a very mild soap is plenty. If you where make up, have extremely oily skin, or work where there are harsh environmental conditions, washing with a medicated cleanser can really be the best thing to help maintain healthy skin.

Starting The Real Cure

The real cure will start with your doctor. Your general practitioner may or may not be able to help you. Many like to refer you to a specialist known as a dermatologist. This is a doctor that specializes in skin conditions and can help you figure out why you are getting such hard acne and how to get rid of it. They will also be able to give you what you have been waiting all this time for, a cure.

Prescription medications are designed to treat and prevent the worst of acne cases. They are also extremely affective as well. You will need to allow your doctor to give you a full examination and testing to make sure they diagnose the real reason for your acne and offer you the best possible solution. Some medications work very fast while others work much slower. It is safe to say that if you are not seeing progress within six weeks, contact your doctor for alternative therapy.

Never Give Up

Dealing with hard acne can not only be emotionally and physically demanding it can be absolutely exhausting. Living through the torture of acne is hard enough. Then having to endure the countless remedies and treatments that do not work can leave you feeling hopeless.

Once you have survived it all and received the treatment you need, do not give up. You need to keep doing whatever works and changing what does not. You do not need to ever suffer with acne your whole life.
